Welcome to One of Us!

 

We are an ongoing exhibition and expanded archive exploring the zine as an alternative safe in which to resist norms and perform identities. One of Us is based on the study of a compact mirror as a tool of self-discovery and self-articulation that shapes how we perceive cultures. One of Us is a strategy of introspection that uses the mirror, the zine and the screen to disidentify with sex, race and gender norms. 

 

Archives allow us to gather information and make important decisions that shape our experiences. The most common objects shape our selves in tangible and intangible ways. It is up to us to take each construct apart and consciously put the distorted pieces back together.
